The prophet Daniel explained to King Nebuchadnezzar the terms of a true philosophy of history:
“But there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets,” “For wisdom and might are his. And he changes the times and the seasons: he removes kings and raises up kings: He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things: he know what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him…. and he has made known to king Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days” (Daniel 2:28, 20-22)
But there is a God in heaven… The enormous spiritual value and deep meaning of the declaration than the title of this book makes, as well as its implementation- both in personal life and the great events of history- represent the quintessence of faith, the most complete synthesis of the great mystery of divine providence. Hence the emphatic statement that “there is a God in heaven” is the leitmotif, the conducting wire of each and every one of the 365 devotional reading that the author presents from his personal convictions and experiences.
